Al. Toradze playing for memory to Spitak earthquake victims
Prominent virtuoso pianist Alexander Toradze will have just one concert on December 4 at the National Opera and Ballet house after Al. Spendarian. The concert is dedicated to the victims of the Spitak earthquake.
It was 28 years ago that for the last time prominent pianist Toradze had a concert in Armenia.
“The impressions and memories are so unforgettable that I cannot recall it without tears,” the pianist said and recalled that years ago he was in Sevan with the prominent and unbelievable composer and pianist Arno Babajanian. There Arno Babajanian has played his “Six images” on the piano.
“We come to Armenia since 1963, me and my sister we grew up in Armenia,” the pianist said.
Kamo Hovhannisyan, the head of National Opera and Ballet house after Al. Spendarian mentioned that Toradze is giving a chrity concert.
According to him it was the pianist’s wish to give the concert in memory to the victims of the earthquake.
“Alexander was among those active artists who brought their support to Armenia and those who suffered from the earthquake here.”
