Lunar Eclipse to be viewed today
The last Lunar Eclipse of this year will take place today on December 10. The unusual display, caused by the moon moving into the shadow of the Earth, will be possible to view from different parts of the world, from Armenia in that number. The moon will turn a deep red-orange color tonight as the sun, the moon and the Earth are lining up in a spectacular total lunar eclipse. This time the Lunar Eclipse will be visible in North America, Central and East Asia, Australia, New Zeeland and partially in Europe and Africa.
The Eclipse will start at 11:33:36 by (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time Parts of the moon will start to disappear about 11.45pm and it will enter totality, or change color, just after 1am. The moon will begin to be revealed again about 2am and the eclipse will be over by 3.15am.
Unlike solar eclipses, lunar eclipses can be safely viewed with the naked eye - no special equipment is needed.
