Arman Yeremyan to take part in Olympic Games
Arman Yeremyan has become the first Armenian taekwondo athlete to compete in the Olympic Games by winning the gold medal in Men’s under 80kg weight category at the European Qualification Tournament for the London 2012 Olympic Games held in Kazan, Russia on January 29. Yeremyan beat Tommy Mollet of the Netherlands. Earlier, the Armenian athlete had beaten Tomáš Hrdina of Czech Republic, Alberto Selestrini of Germany and Nicolas Garcia Hemme of Spain, ARMNOC press office reported.
Gevorg Danielyan’s student is the first in that sport who received the permit to take part in Olympic Games. He is also the first one in our country who became champion of Europe in 2008. We do believe that our sportsman will become the first one in taekwondo.
Thus, at present there are 12 sportsmen to leave for London 2012.
