Media will contribute to elections’ transparency

“The role of Media in upcoming elections will be significant as the social networks are very active today, everything is open, and social control over the elections will be everywhere,” said today Hakob Avetikyan, the editor-in-chief of Azg daily.

He also mentioned that the trust of the society towards the media is not that developed and it will be a bit difficult for the society to understand the direction of this or that media.

H.Avetikyan noted that many journalists have been elected as Supreme Council at the Parliament once – Aramayis Sahakyan, Varges Petrosyan, Arkadi Ghukasyan and others.

Meruzhn Ter-Gulanyan mentioned that the media in Armenia was not as free as it is today and congratulated the journalists on that occasion.

The speaker noticed that freedom of media refers especially to print and e-medias, “The upcoming elections will be clear, transparent and the e-media will foster it.”
