London will be ready to host the
British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Wednesday that London will be ready to host the "greatest games" in the world, english.cri.cn says.
Cameron made these remarks after meeting the visiting International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Jacque Rogge. "The Olympics and Paralympics will be the greatest show on earth.
It's an extraordinary honor for the UK and we intend to repay that faith," he said.
At this point before the Athens Games in 2004, there was no roof on the main Olympic stadium in the Greek capital and hardly a ticket had been sold, the BBC reports.
London's main venues have all been completed, have sold 4m tickets and have even secured legacy uses for six of the eight arenas on the Olympic Park.
But London's organising committee, Locog, knows there is still a lot of work to be done.
