Eight people killed in Pakistan as a result of an explosion
According to New York Daily News eight people, including two children, were killed Thursday in a massive blast outside a seminary in Pakistan's Quetta city, a media report said.
The deafening explosion took place at Jamia Islamia Miftah-ul-Uloom, reported Geo News.
The explosive device was tied to a bicycle parked beside the seminary gate.
Eight people were killed while dozens were injured, hospital sources were quoted as saying.
The bomb was detonated outside the seminary as a ceremony for handing over degrees to students was being held inside, said police official Qazi Abdul Wahid.
Local police say hundreds of students were gathered inside the Jamia Islamia Maftah-ul-Uloom madrassa in the Sariab area of the city when the bomb went off.
There has been no claim of responsibility, the Daily Star adds.
