More than 40 killed as a result of explosions in Iraq
A series of bombings in the Iraqi cities of Hilla and Baghdad has killed at least 35 people and wounded dozens more, Iraqi officials say.
At least 20 people died in a series of bombings in Baghdad targeting Shia pilgrims gathering for a festival, the BBC reports.
In Hilla, two car bombs exploded near a restaurant, killing at least 15 people.
There has been a wave of attacks on the Shia community in recent days, as it marks the anniversary of the death of Shia imam Moussa al-Kadhim.
