Assad blames Turkey for Syrian violence
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has blamed Turkey for fueling the violence taking place within Syria. Assad was speaking in his first television interview since a bomb attack killed four of his top security officials on July 18. He blasted Turkey, which once cultivated good relations with Assad, for turning against him.
Bashar Al-Assad, Syrian President said, "Turkey bears direct responsibility for the blood being shed in Syria. When our relationship with Turkey started to improve, we didn’t look for a relationship with individuals or with a government.
But we looked at our relationship with Turkey from an historical angle, a tense relationship for over nine decades that we wanted to erase.”
