The Bundestag vice president is in Armenia for the first time. Here he has already visited the Armenian Genocide museum, has looked through the documents and documentaries about the Armenian Genocide and has left a note in the Commemoration Book saying, “We condemn the Genocide and commit to establish peace and defend human rights.”
Wolfgang Thierse noticed at the interview with the journalists, “German people remember the crimes committed against different peoples. The Bundestag has condemned in 2005 the massacres against the Armenians and has expressed its disposition about those historical events. We think that such historical events should be assessed and condemned.”
