Yerevan-Batumi passenger transportation grows 11%
At a meeting with reporters today, CEO of South Caucasus Railway CJSC Victor Rebets summed up the results of the year, saying that 2012 was not an ordinary year for SCR and that no result was achieved easily.
According to him, the beginning of the year was unfavorable, with low levels of cargo transportation as compared with last year.
To improve the situation, a number of steps, including optimization, were developed, thanks to which passenger and cargo transportation volumes grew.
Yerevan-Batumi passenger transportation grew 11% compared with last year, to which the company’s price policy has contributed.
At the same time there was a decline in suburban passenger transportation volumes. The company plans to change its approaches in this direction so as to deal with the problem.
