Unprecedented impartial exams: Minister Ashotian sums up the year
Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotian summed up the year today. He described the year 2012 as a difficult, but effective one.
The minister pointed out 16 medals in six subjects received by Armenian pupils at Olympiads. In his words, this is an unprecedented index, which proves once again the competitiveness of Armenia’s educational system.
According to Ashotian, the introduction of chess lessons program in schools is another achievement. “We have completed the introduction of chess lessons for second graders and now we will introduce chess as a mandatory subject for third graders and start retraining teachers”.
Armen Ashotian also spoke about holding the conference of CIS ministers and the conference of teachers in Armenia.
He also attached importance to the special educational scientific program entitled “Assistance for Young Scientists”. An additional sum of 100 million AMD has been allocated for the program.
