SCPEC-2012: 214 decisions, fines of 250 million AMD
In 2012 the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) issued 214 decisions concerning unfair economic entities and imposed fines of 250 million AMD, SCPEC Chairman Artak Shaboyan said at the meeting with reporters today.
According to Shaboyan, economic entities that hold a monopoly of a market are at the center of the Commission’s attention. Sanctions were applied against Electric Networks of Armenia, South Caucasus Railway, Haypost and several other companies.
In 2012 SCPEC conducted studies in markets, including drug market, diesel fuel market, and fertilizer market. Based on the results, companies engaging in anticompetitive activity were made responsible.
