Although standards were already set in the concept worked out in 2008, these standards have been changed, Executive Director of the UITE Karen Vardanian said at the meeting with reporters today.
According to him, it was planned to increase the number of IT enterprises to 400 by 2013, but this result was already achieved in late 2012. The productivity of an employee in the sector is $25,000.
Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yengibarian said that a correct model was developed in 2008, with a focus on two main directions: the development of society and the IT sector, with notable progress being reported in terms of availability of the Internet and computers.
In his words, progress has been made in the Internet access and services.
The IT strategy attaches importance to the development of technoparks in the country. The Gyumri techopark will be put into operation at the end of this year. The IT sector has developed not only in Yerevan, but also in regions.
