Armenian president satisfied with work of SRC
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited today the training center of regional tax inspectorate in Kanaker-Zeytun district, Yerevan. The president had a working meeting there with the senior personnel of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC).
Reports were made about the reforms, carried out in SRC system in recent years.
SRC Chairman Gagik Khachatrian said that the main objective of the Committee in 2012 was the implementation of the programmed indices of the state budget of Armenia.
According to him, the programmed index of collecting taxes, duties and payments of 875 billion AMD was implemented.
He noted that in 2013 too, ensuring state budget revenues of over 969 billion AMD continues to be the main goal of tax and customs authorities. In his words, people and their mentality will become an important target of SRC activities in the next few years. In addition, consisted work will be done to form a relevant culture for tax payers.
Serzh Sargsyan made a speech at the meeting. He said that in 2012 SRC has, for the most part, performed the tasks assigned, and the matter concerns not only tax collection. In his words, many had doubts that SRC would collect an additional amount of 101 billion AMD, but SRC managed to ensure that index.
The president said that the best proof of reforms at SCR is the indices of the Doing Business Report. Armenia currently ranks 32nd. The head of the country noted that tax payers no longer view the SRC employees as their enemy. “The hostile atmosphere is gradually changing”.
The president stated he is satisfied with work done by SRC and that its activities should serve as an example for other state structures.
