Prisoner ends hunger strike after visit of HRD Office employees
Employees of the rapid response group of the Human Rights Defender’s Office today met with prisoner Arthur Petrosian who went on hunger strike on January 21 in Nubarashen prison, HRD Office reported.
The prisoner went on hunger strike to protest against the decision, by which his initial measure of restraint (recognizance not to leave the city) had been replaced by arrest.
During a talk with the prisoner, the rapid response group’s employees Habet Martirosian and Artak Barseghian urged the man to end his hunger strike and try to solve the problem in a different way.
As a result, Arthur Petrosian ended his hunger strike and filed an application for Human Rights Defender’s assistance.
