Criminal case opened based on fact of Hayrikian’s attempted murder

In connection with the attempted murder of the presidential candidate, AIM Chairman Paruyr Hayrikian, a criminal case was opened under Articles 34 and 305 of the Criminal Code (attempt to commit a crime; assassination of a state, political or public figure), Aysor. am was informed by the Armenian police.

The investigation is being conducted by the National Security Service. A joint investigation team composed of employees of the police and NSS has been set up.

We would remind you that yesterday someone fired shots at the presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikian on Tpagrichneri Street in Yerevan. Hayrikian received gunshot wounds to the right collarbone and was taken to Surb Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center. He is in moderately grave condition.

The personnel of the medical center’s unit where P. Hayrikian is being treated declined to provide information about his health.
