Why Hayrikian slow to make decision
Zhoghovurd” daily writes that the presidential candidate Paryur Hayrikian has not yet decided whether to ask the Constitutional Court to postpone the election or not. The newspaper’s sources claim that in reality Hayrikian is trying to obtain a position from Serzh Sargsyan.
In particular, rumors persist that Hayrikian wants to become a parliamentary deputy, more specifically, a majoritarian deputy. In this connection there was a conversation to appoint a majoritarian deputy- member of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) a government member so that hayrikian could run in that district and win. This option, however, has not yet been approved by HHK.
“Zhoghovurd” has talked with Hayrikian, but he denied these rumors. “I am running in the presidential election. I want to be president, not an MP,” he said.
