Manaserian on presidential candidates, election programs, and memory
A more serious approach should be taken to the institute of presidency in Armenia. Head of “Alternative” Center Tatul Manaserian expressed this opinion today, adding that some presidential candidates have no election programs. “Just about everyone tries to become a presidential candidate. It is not serious,” the economist said.
It should be mentioned that only three (Serzh Sargsyan, Raffi Hovannisian, and Hrant Bagratian) of the eight presidential candidates have presented their election programs.
According to Manaserian, among the candidates are people who were previously not well-known: they just decided one fine day that they will run for President.
T. Manaserian advised such people to run a village, for a start. He recalled the “vicious past” of some persons who now “beat their breast, trying to impress others with their knowledge”.
According o him, only a thoughtless person who has amnesia can expect watermelons to fall from an apple tree.
