4 people detained in “buffalo meat case”

Four high-ranking officials of the Defense Ministry have been detained so far in the criminal case opened in connection with the checks conducted in the food depot of the ministry. Aysor.am received this information from Mary Sargsyan, senior officer of the press service of the Defense Ministry’s Investigation Department.

Let us remind you that Albert Ohanjanian, who worked as director of Meat Processing and Packing Factory in the city of Kapan, was arrested and charged under Article 178 Part 3 of the RA Criminal Code (swindling committed in particularly large amount).

The three other officials of the Defense Ministry were charged under Article 376 Part 2 of the Criminal Code (negligent service that has caused grave consequences). Their names have not been given so far.

The criminal case was opened in June 2012.
