V. Sedrakian charged with ordering Paryur Hayrikian’s murder
The former presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakian is charged with ordering the murder of another former presidential candidate, leader of the Union of National Self-Determination (AIM) Paryur Hayrikian. The National Security Service of Armenia has brought the charge against Sedrakian.
“On March 5 the NSS filed a petition to a court to place V. Sedrakian under two-month arrest as a measure of restraint. The court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts in Yerevan granted the petition. V. Sedrakian is charged with ordering Paruyr Hayrikian’s murder,” the NSS press service said.
An investigation is ongoing.
An attempted murder was committed against P. Hayrikian on the night of January 31, in connection with which a criminal case was opened under Articles 34 and 305 of the RA Criminal Code.
