Court of Appeals confirms decision on Sedrakian’s arrest
Armenia’s Court of Criminal Appeals has today rejected the appeal against the court decision to use arrest as a measure of restraint against Vardan Sedrakian, an epos expert. The appeal was filed by Sedrakian’s defense lawyer, Alexander Sirunian.
Let us remind you that ex-presidential candidate Vardan Sedrakian has been charged with ordering the attempted murder of another presidential candidate, leader of AIM Party Paruyr Hayrikian. The court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts in Yerevan earlier ruled that arrest as a measure of restraint should be used against V. Sedrakian.
Alexander Sirunian told the correspondent of Aysor.am a few days ago that he “is pretty sure that the measure of restraint against Vardan Sedrakian, i.e. arrest, will not be changed”.
