Hraparak: Resignations of governors remain on agenda
“Hraparak” daily writes that the issue of some governors’ resignations remains on the agenda, and and the fate of former Shirak governor Ashot Gizirian awaits many. According to the daily, the authorities will return to this issue after the president’s inauguration.
“They say Ashot Gizirian’s resignation will be followed by that of Ararat province governor Edik Barseghian. The name of the man who will succeed him as governor is already known. The next governor will be Murad Muradian, who is a member of Republican Party of Armenia, a parliamentary deputy elected under the majoritarian system in the city of Masis. He recently had differences with the government which tried to prevent him from implementing a hydropower plant construction project,” the daily writes.
It is also rumored that in order to be appointed governor, the deputy will have to make sacrifices in his business, that is, to give up his lakes and the idea of building a hydropower plant so as not to become vulnerable.
