Vrezh Galstian has mental problems, doctor says
25-year-old Vrezh Galstian, who made an attempt to intrude into the grounds of Armenian parliament yesterday, has mental problems. Karen Sahakian, chief physician of Yerevan clinical hospital No 1, told that to the correspondent of Aysor.am.
He said V. Galstian was examined by a psychiatrist who revealed that Galstian has mental problems and should receive treatment in a clinic.
“Galstian is in satisfactory condition and will be transferred to a regular ward today. After he recovers here, doctors will decide whether he should undergo compulsory medical treatment in a special clinic,” K. Sahakian noted.
We would remind you that yesterday afternoon Vrezh Galstian attempted to intrude into the RA National Assembly’s grounds. He was armed with a knife. Security guards used guns to prevent the man from bursting into the parliament building. Vrezh Galstian received a perforating gunshot wound in the thigh and was hospitalized. Galstian has two previous convictions.
In connection with the incident, the Special Investigation Service opened a criminal case under Article 316 (violence against a representative of authorities) of the RA Criminal Code.
