Vrezh Galstian charged in parliament intrusion case
Vrezh Galstian, a 25-year-old resident of the city of Masis, has been charged in the criminal case investigated by the Special Investigation Service. Armed with a knife, he entered the Armenian parliament’s grounds without authorization and was rendered harmless by security officers.
According to the Special Investigation Service, the man was charged under Article 316 Part 1 of the Criminal Code. An investigation is ongoing.
Let us remind you that on March 22 Vrezh Galstian attempted to enter the yard of the National Assembly by introducing himself as “Jesus Christ”. In trying to prevent his intrusion into the parliament’s grounds, security guards used guns. Galstian received a perforating gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital at 3:15 pm.
By a decision of the general jurisdiction court of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts in Yerevan, arrest was used as a measure of restrain against V. Galstian. He was transported to “Nubarashen” prison today.
