Matter concerns only Heritage at negotiations, expert says

“I have an impression that the matter concerns only Heritage Party or the forces rallied round Heritage – rather than other opposition forces such as ARFD and Armenian National Congress - in terms of their participation in the formation of control mechanisms,” the Deputy Director of Caucasus Institute, political scientist Sergei Minasian told Aysor.am, when discussing Raffi Hovannisian’s proposals to Serzh Sargsyan.

As for the efficiency of the possible negotiations between the authorities and Heritage and the possible formats, Minasian noted: “I cannot say which format will be most effective because it depends on Raffi Hovannisian’s vision of post-election developments”.

“And a question arises: despite the negotiating process, will he remain an opposition force or join the ruling coalition forces under certain conditions offered by Serzh Sargsyan?”
