Armenia plans to export sheep to Iraq
The number of surplus sheep in Armenia currently makes 250 thousand head. A decision was made to export them to Iraq, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture Ashot Hovhannisian announced at a press conference today. In his words, the respective preliminary agreement with the Iraqi side was reached during a meeting in Iran.
Ashot Hovhannisan also touched upon the lease of pastures in Armenia’s Syunk province to Iran. He noted that it was a preliminary agreement of unofficial nature. He considered selling sheep to the Iranian side as a more likely deal.
