Hraparak: Brother of television presenter Nver Mnatsakanian arrested
Yesterday the court of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts in Yerevan granted the petition of the deputy head of the Unit for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Police Main Investigation Department Petik Hakobian for arresting Ruben Mnatsakanian, “Hraparak” daily writes.
The newspaper notes that Ruben Mnatsakanian is the brother of Nver Mnatsakanian, a presenter of Public Television Company. In the period of 2001 to 2010 Ruben Mnatsakanain held the position of head of the Gyumri Unit of the State Service of Social Benefits.
“The former official is charged under Article 308 part 2 of the Criminal Code for causing damage of 85 billion AMD to the state. Ruben Mnatsakanian is an accused person in a pension embezzlement case, in connection with which the former head of State Social Security Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Vazgen had been arrested. R. Mnatsakanian is a link in the criminal chain,” the paper writes.
