Football Federation president: Coach is not to blame
The Executive Committee of Armenia’s Football Federation did not accept the resignation of the national football team’s chief coach Vardan Minasian, President of the Football Federation Ruben Hayrapetian told journalists today.
“I understand Minasian who sent in his resignation following three defeats of the team. The Executive Committee discussed the issue today and rejected his resignation. I set a goal before the team, but they failed to achieve it. I did not accept Vardan Minasian’s resignation because he is not blame. I would have accepted his resignation if he had not been a hardworking coach respected by the players. He is not to blame for the fact that the team has suffered three defeats in a row. There a number of reasons for those defeats,” Hayrapetian said.
In his words, one or two players behaved like clowns. He did not give their names, but, when answering other questions, he expressed his bewilderment that no one writes about Edgar Manucharian’s playing style.
Ruben Hayrapetian expressed satisfaction with players Taron Voskanian and Kamo Hovhannisian.
