Diaspora Armenians interested in improvement of democracy in Armenia

“Hraparak” daily notes that among the invitees to Serzh Sargsyan’s inauguration was Ara Gochunian, editor- in-chief of Istanbul-based “Zhamanak” daily that plays an active part in the local Armenian community’s life and relations with the authorities.

“Hraparak” made an attempt to find out the reason of Gochunian’s presence at the Demirchian Complex where the inauguration was held – given the fact that most Diaspora Armenians support Raffi Hovannisian.

“Diaspora Armenians should perceive more moderately the phenomena of the internal political struggle in Armenia: the Diaspora Armenians are interested in the improvement and development of democracy in Armenia. We can say that progress was made Armenia in this sense, but to Diaspora Armenians, it is important that democracy continue in parallel with improvement of the state building process”.
