Haykakan Zhamanak: Policemen ran Ponzi scheme
“Haykakan Zhamanak” daily writes, citing its sources that on April 9 a citizen informed the Arabkir unit of the Armenian Police about a crime that is likely to cause a stir.
“According to the citizen, some people created a Ponzi scheme in Armenia. They collected citizens’ money by deception and then “disappeared”. Such schemes existed in the country in the past as well, but this one was run by several high-ranking police officials. The turnover amounted to several million dollars. The press service of the police confirmed yesterday that the citizen’s report is examined. But such names are mentioned in connection with this case that the police will do everything possible in order to hush up the case,” the paper notes.
