Georgian NGO calls on authorities to recognize Armenian Genocide
The Society of Irakli the Second NGO welcomes the recognition of the 1915 Armenian Genocide by numerous democratic countries and calls upon the Georgian authorities to follow suit, Regnum news agency reported.
The NGO Chairman Archil Chkoidze announced that they plan to hold a conference entitled “From Hayos-Kartlos to This Day” on April 17 and will once again appeal to the Georgian authorities to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
“The conference participants will observe a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide committed in the Ottoman Empire. The Society of Irakli the Second and the Assembly of Armenians in Tbilisi will once again call on the government to recognize the Armenian Genocide”,” Archil Chkoidze noted.
The participants will discuss Armenian-Georgian relations and the attempts to falsify history with the aim of creating hostility between the two fraternal nations.
