Number of road accidents increases in Armenia
The number of road accidents and people injured in such accidents has increased this year, Head of the Road Patrol Service of Traffic Police Norik Sargsyan said at the meeting with journalists today. According to him, the increase has to do with the introduction of APPA insurance system as people began to seek health care even in case of a scratch, whereas previously they do it in case of serious injuries.
“57 people, including two minors, died in road accidents this year,” Norik Sargsyan said in response to the question of Aysor.am, adding that there has been an increase in this index as well.
He attributed the growth in car accidents to increased imports of cars: 62,000 vehicles were imported into Armenia in 2013.
