Deputy chief of Armenian police dismissed together with Nazarian?
Discussing the possible reasons for the dismissal of Yerevan Police Chief Nerses Nazarian, “Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun” writes: ”Yerevan Police Chief Nerses Nazarian, who was controlling the situation in Baghramian Avenue on April 9, informed Armenian Police Chief Vladimir Gasparian that the crowd was getting out of control and that the police’s needed to “launch an attack”.
Meanwhile, Nerses Nazarian behaved aggressively, flaring up tensions and arousing indignation of protesters. Vladimir Gasparian ordered him not to take any actions until he arrived on the scene. The newspaper was informed by police that a serious conversation took place between Gasparian and Nazarian in connection with the incident”. Hazarian refuted the information, saying: “There is no such thing. Many people dream of it and say that our relations are strained”.
“Rumors began to circulate yesterday evening that Vladimir Gasparian also dismissed Deputy Chief of Armenian Police Sashik Afian,” the paper adds.
