Air tickets to Armenia twice as expensive as tickets to Georgia

Armenia needs a national carrier, without which it is impossible to develop tourism, Director of Amistad Tour travel agency, a member of the Board of the Union of Inbound Tour Operators Ms. Armine Adamian said at the meeting with journalists today.

According to her, tourists often cancel their trips to Armenia because of high prices of air tickets, which also happened prior to Armavia’s bankruptcy.

Armine Adamian said that air tickets from a European country to Armenia are twice as expensive as tickets to Georgia. She mentioned the absence of direct flights as another serious problem.

It is noteworthy that the Armenian deputy minister of economy stated at a press conference today that there have not been any complaints about air carriers recently and other airlines have operated flights instead of Armavia.
