Sargis Hatspanian: Nobody leaves Armenia for economic reasons
"Out of those who emigrate from Armenia, you can hardly find people who leave the country for economic reasons,” Sargis Hatspanian, an analyst specializing in regional problems, participant of the Karabakh war, said at a press conference today.
In his words, people leave Armenia because of the absence of love and the lack of justice. He expressed confidence that no one would leave the homeland if there were love and justice, quite the opposition, people would come back.
“Since the 1991 elections, the people cannot form power. The authorities are unable to understand people. They do not love their own land, children, people, and the liberated territories. If such love existed, people would not leave the homeland, the graves of their relatives and settle in other countries,” Hatspanian noted.
According to him, Diaspora investors do not also come to Armenia because “they saw their investments stolen”. He noted that the number Syrian Armenian refugees coming to Armenia is small, but even these refugees plan to return to Syria after the war ends.
