Car crash leaves six dead, four injured
Six people died and four were injured in a car crash yesterday in Armenia.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that a GAZ-2410 car skidded off the road near the so-called Devil’s Bridge on Goris-Tatev motorway and fell into a gorge where a group of people were picnicking.
The car, in which nine people were travelling, fell on the people picnicking in the gorge, one of whom was killed on the spot.
Among those killed in the car crash are 37-year-old driver of the car Vruyr Ghazarian and 5 passengers: Serob Ghazarian, 6, Silvia Ghazarian, 11, Hermine Ohanjanian, 29, and Aida Tunian, 15. The car fell on Hayk Martikian, a 40-year-old man who was one of the picnickers.
The other passengers, including Grigor Avetian, 23, Malvina Ghazarian, 41, Nona Tunian, 21, and Vahe Tunian, 10, were hospitalized.
