V. Khachatrian: HAK cooperates with BHK, ARFD and Heritage for victory

The major goal of Armenian National Congress (HAK) was to convince the voter of the political nature of the elections to Yerevan Council of Elders, the ex-mayor of Yerevan Vahagn Khachatrian, who tops HAK list of candidates in the May 5 elections, stated at the meeting with reporters today.

According to him, HAK encountered some difficulties at the start of the election campaign because they were also preparing for HAK Party’s founding congress.

“The main thing is that we have managed to convince Yerevan residents that the Yerevan municipal elections are political,” Vahagn Khachatrian noted. In his words, in order to achieve a victory in the elections, HAK is actively cooperating with Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), ARF-Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage Party.

V. Khachatrain called on the police to fight against election fraud prior to the elections and on the polling day.

“Policemen should pay special attention to Malatia-Sebastia district where scuffles are planned for double voting,” V. Khachatrian said.

“Power and business should be separated in the country. I have recently met a number of businessmen who are required to ensure a certain number of votes during the election,” he said.
