Changes in government unlikely if consensus not reached
The composition of the new government will be announced soon. “Haykakan Zhamanak” daily wrote earlier that the government line-up would depend on the results of the May 5 elections to Yerevan Council of Elders. There were cloakroom rumors yesterday about a possible meeting between Serzh Sargsyan and the leader of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Gagik Tsarukian. Both Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and BHK said yesterday that the formation of a coalition was not discussed. HHK members openly declared yesterday that they are ready to cooperate, although one wing of the party is firmly against the inclusion of BHK in the coalition. Unless the sides reach a consensus, notable changes in the new government’s composition are unlikely.
