Police deny any relation to Armen Martirosian video

Armenian police have released an explanation regarding the Youtube video related to Heritage Party’s deputy chairman Armen Martirosian.

“A video of the Heritage Party’s deputy chairman Armen Martirosian in a police car was posted today.

Some attempted to conduct their “own” investigation, trying to clarify how the police provide videos and how much they charge for it, others claimed confidently that it was a police material, expressing various opinions about the goals and cause-effect relationship of posting the video.

We officially announced that the chief of Yerevan police ordered an internal investigation.

The internal investigation revealed that on that day, another citizen (the person’s identity was established during the internal investigation, he is currently not in Armenia) was taken to police, along with Armen Martirosian. There were two policemen in the car: one was driving the car, the other was in the passenger compartment (the policeman in the passenger compartment can be seen in the video, while the driver could not record the video while driving).

Besides, Armen Martirosian told the mass media that the police have no relation to the video’s filming.

Nevertheless, in order to avoid further speculation, we have to present a video recoded in reality by an employee of the Information ad PR Department of Armenian Police,” the statement of Armenian police said.
