Zhoghovurd: Mihran Poghosian to become NSS head?
“Zhoghovurd” wrote that although Director of National Security Service (NSS) Gorik Hakobian has several times submitted his resignation, President Serzh Sargsyan is in no hurry to appoint a new official.
The paper says that Mihran Poghosian, the head of the Service for Mandatory Enforcement of Judicial Acts, is trying to take advantage of the situation. His uncle Grisha Harutyunian, who was previously the deputy director of NSS, is now pulling strings to achieve his nephew’s appointment as NSS director. If Mihran Poghosian is appointed to that post, it will be a violation of the Law on National Security Service, under which a person who has worked at least 10 years in the system may head NSS, whereas Mihran Poghosian worked with NSS only 7 years.
