Tigran Sargsyan: Minimum wage to increase by 10,000 AMD on June 1
The Armenian government is making calculations to increase the minimum wage from 35,000 to 45,000 AMD starting from June 1, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated at the discussion of the 2013-2017 government program in the National Assembly today.
“The president set a task before us, and we should present a program to ensure a notable increase in wages. We are making calculations now and will soon submit a document to stipulate the political approaches of the state regarding wages,” the prime minister said.
According to him, it is planned to double the current minimum wage in the next five years and also raise pensions and social benefits.
