Hraparak: Finance minister decides to save on subscription
The newly-appointed Minister of Finance David Sargsyan launched a unique “initiative” after taking office, “Hraparak” writes.
He probably believes that economy is the primary task of a finance minister. In addition, the negative attitude of the minister and his team to the press probably had its impact so he decided to miscere utile dulci and prohibit reading of newspapers. The first thing he did was sending an official note to the departments to reduce the subscription to newspapers,” the newspaper says.
According to its sources, the order applies first of all to independent and opposition media. “We believed that the authorities would realize one day that promotion of press freedom is a step to develop the country and is one of the main obligations of the state,” “Hraparak” writes.
