Residents of 46 communities hit by hail not to pay land tax
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan yesterday went to Armavir province to examine the government steps on elimination of the consequences of recent hailstorm. He was accompanied by the deputy prime minister, ministers of agriculture and labor, and the chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.
A consultation was held in the evening. It was decided that:
1. Residents of 46 communities hit by the hailstorm will not pay land tax. In communities which suffered partial losses, 50% of land tax will be paid by the state.
2. The same principle will be used in case of water payments.
3. Farmers will receive seeds, fertilizers and diesel fuel.
4. Loans of farmers and interest payments will be frozen for some time, by using individual approach.
5. U.S. dollar loans of farmers will be replaced by loans in Armenian drams, the government will provide subsidies.
6. By instructions of the prime minister, anti-hail stations to be controlled from the same center will be installed in all villages of the province.
7. By instructions of the prime minister, socially vulnerable families will receive one-off financial aid.
