Soldier charged with killing Lyuks Stepanian faces life in prison
Private David Khachatrian, who killed fellow-soldier Lyuks Stepanian in a military unit of Noyemberian on May 15, has been charged under the Criminal Code’s Article 104 part 2 point 6 (murder committed in a way dangerous to many people) and Article 112 part 1 (infliction of willful heavy damage to health).
Aysor.am received this information from the advisor to Armenia’s Human Rights Defender, expert on army cases Ms. Yeranuhi Tumanian. According to her, Article 112 part 1 envisages punishment in the form of 3-7 years’ imprisonment, and Article 104 part 2 point envisages 12-20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
