Son of Syunik governor detained

Tigran Khachatrian, the son of Syunik province governor Surik Khachatrian, has been detained in connection with the June1 shooting in the city of Goris that left one man dead and two injured.

The Defense Ministry’s Investigation Service is investigating the criminal case. During a talk with Aysor.am, the Investigation Service employees did not comment on the information, saying that an official statement will be issued soon.

It was also reported that the governor’s bodyguard Zarzand Nikoghosian has been detained.

Let us remind you that on the evening of June 1 there was a shooting outside a detached house on David Bek Street in Goris, in which Avetik Budaghian, 43, was killed on the spot, while his brother Artak Budaghian, 42, and Nikolay Abrahamian, 38, received gunshot wounds and were hospitalized. A criminal case was opened under Article 104 part 2 point 6 and Article 235 part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
