Khachatrian and Nikoghosian transferred to Nubarashen penal institution

Two persons – Tirgan Khachatrian and Zarzand Nikoghosian were charged in the criminal case which was opened in connection with the murder of Avetik Budaghain during the June 1 shooting outside the house of Syunik regional governor Suren Khachatrian in the city of Goris, according to the press service of Prosecutor General’s Office.

Based on materials collected during the preliminary investigation, they were charged under the Criminal Code’s Article 104 part 2 point 6 (murder) , Article 112 part 2 (willful infliction of heavy damage to health), and Article 235 part 1 (illegal procurement, keeping and carrying of weapons, explosives and explosive devices).

The Syunik regional court of general jurisdiction granted the petition of the preliminary investigative body to choose two months’ arrest as a measure of restraint against T. Khachatrian and Z. Nikoghosian. The two men have been transferred to Nubarashen penal institution.

The Investigation Service of Armenia’s Defense Ministry is conducting a preliminary investigation into the case.
