Syunik governor’s son and bodyguard not released on bail
The court of general jurisdiction of Syunik province rejected the petition filed by the defense lawyers of Synuk governor’s son and bodyguard who were detained on suspicion of murder and illegal possession of weapons. The court decided not to release them on bail.
Senior officer of Armenian Defense Ministry’s press service Mary Sargsyan confirmed this information.
We should remind you that former candidate for Goris mayor Avetik Budaghian was killed in the shooting outside the house of Syunik governor Suren Khachatrian on the evening of June 1. Avetik Budaghian’s brother, Artak Budaghian who is a military unit’s commander, received a severe gunshot wound and was taken to a military hospital. Nikolay Abrahamian, a bodyguard of the Syunik governor, was also hospitalized.
The Synik regional governor’s son Tigran Khachatrian and another bodyguard, Zarzand Nikoghosian, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
