ARFD deputy: Armen Movsisian unfamiliar with situation in energy sector
Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movisian two weeks ago made some statements about privatization of theVorotan series of hydropower plants, which showed that he is not familiar with the situation, the deputy of ARFD parliamentary faction Artsvik Minasian said in the National Assembly today.
Minasian said that Vorotan series of hydropower plants was removed from the 2006-2007 privatization program, whereas the minister declared that the parliament would privatize the Vorotan cascade by including it in the privatization program. “The privatization will mean yet another step that will cause damage to the state,” Artsvik Minasian said.
He reminded those present that the Vorotan cascade is half a nuclear power plant, that is to say, it not only generates electricity, but is also an important systemic enterprise with serious functions.
‘The energy sector is in a sad state. I want to draw the prime minister’s attention to this circumstance,” the deputy said.
