Zhamanak: Governor of Ararat province leaves country
“Zhamanak” daily writes citing its sources that governor of Ararat province Edik Barseghian went abroad, requesting a leave without pay on June 11. According to the daily, the governor took that step deliberately, taking into account the fact that during that period gross misuses in the program of state assistance to Armenian land users for purchase of diesel fuel at low prices were revealed in Ararat province.
“There were rumors among deputies in the Armenian parliament yesterday that because of the revealed misuses Edik Bareseghian “vanished” from the country. During a talk with the correspondent of “Zhamanak”, the governor’s spokesman did not clarify the governor’s reasons for leaving Armenia. He only said that Edik Barseghian’s leave ends on June 25,” the paper writes.
