Data of Energy Ministry and PSRC on Iranian gas supply differ
Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources officially says that in 2012, 481.013034 million cubic meters of natural gas was imported into Armenia from Iran, which is confirmed by the acts signed by the Armenian and Iranian sides.
The media’s recent reports that 350 million cubic meters of gas was allegedly imported into Armenia from Iran do not correspond to reality.
It is noteworthy that the Iranian side also states that exports of Iranian gas to Armenia amounted to 481 million cubic meters last year.
The confusion related to the volumes of gas supplied to Armenia began after the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission’s June 8 sitting, during which it was announced that Armenia received 350 million cubic meters of gas from Iran. The difference makes 130 million cubic meters.
